CONGLOMERATION OF PROBLEMS…. Simple mathematics.

The taps are dry + The electric short circuit has ruined the fridge compressor + My tummy aches, and I need to see a doctor + I had a severe tiff with the boss + I had a major argument with the spouse … =   Depression + Irritation + Hopelessness + Annoyance …

Should I have the audacity to name this the ‘Kumar’s Theorem of Problems’?

Isn’t it watching a mundane sequence of daily soap operas every day?

Well, for the last several months, I get up each night around 3 a.m., and suddenly the Pandora box of problems opens up. Sleep goes of the window, and the mind is pushed to the abysmal depths of depression.

Now, here comes the mental exercise; the mathematics of dealing with the family of glitches and snags that eat the cognitive capabilities of a termite.

Why do the negative thoughts molest the mind, only at night? They come like a spooky devil and dance salsa in front of the sleep laden eyes.

Does Positivity come with sunrise, and go away with sunset?

They say, “Overthinking can ruin you. It confuses the situation, twists things around, forces you to worry, and often makes everything seem much worse than it actually is”.

I do understand it, after all, who the hell wants to ruin a peaceful slumber with an array of negative thoughts that molest the well-being.

I gave serious thought to this problem; I know many of you might be going through the same, but are scared to admit it.

It’s taboo to admit that we get negative thoughts like, “How can we? We are positive people and follow the doctrine of umpteen so-called Gurus and Guru Maatas. They infuse so much knowledge that negativity doesn’t touch our domain of the intellect.”

“Consider how very fortunate you are. Consider it every day. The more you count your blessings, the more blessings there will be to count” MAR CANDANGEL.

Well, we are human beings, and our lives are filled with laughter and remorse. Talking about our problems is like an addiction, and most of us enjoy it. The endeavour should be to break this negative habit. Talk about joy, loves and dreams.

A NEGATIVE MIND WILL NEVER GIVE A POSITIVE LIFE.

If we realise how powerful thoughts are, we will never think of a negative ‘thought’ again.

The conglomeration of small thoughts magnifies and plays havoc by creating a strong bond.

I remember a childhood story of seven brothers who kept fighting with each other. The father gave them a bundle of seven sticks and asked them to break them up. They couldn’t do that despite all their efforts. They broke the sticks when they separated.

The moral is that if you are united, no one else can break you. The philosophy here is the opposite of the morality of the story.

I deal with my nighttime depressions by considering them as a bundle of sticks. The art is to unwind the shackles and deal with the causes of depression one by one, thus breaking them down into a single set of patterns.

Depression and negativity come as one chaotic thought, and we think that the world is over.

Now, look at the mathematics,

I segregate the factors that affect my mental and emotional persona.

My family.

My children are doing well. I need not worry that they will have a good destiny and a decent life. I am okay with my spouse, leaving aside the small tiffs and arguments that go on with every couple.

My profession.

I am okay with my work. The ups and downs are phasic and happen in everyone’s lives. There is always sunshine after a cloudy night.

My health.

I am healthy and fine. The medical reports are normal, and there is nothing to worry about.

My money.

I am doing fine with my investments and earnings. My needs are legitimate, and I do not want to become like an Ambani or Tata. I have enough to lead a decent and comfortable life. Why should I bother if I am not making enough money this month?

My relationships.

I am loyal to my commitment to relationships. Everyone loves me, and I have done justice to all my alliances. Moreover, nothing lasts forever, and every relationship has a shelf life.

Believe me, when I dealt with these matters separately, one at a time, I did justice and infused Positivity.

Suddenly I was a happy man. Depression and LOW feelings were transformed into ones of contentment and satisfaction.

Human life is ruled by the simplicity and complexity of personal attitudes. Attitude may seem like a simple word, but it carries within, a world of meaning and logic. We lead a life that is destined, but it is taken care of by our attitude: OUR POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

  1. Beautiful write up Dr.Anuj. It’s a useful analysis of this very common hazard of all problems fusing into one and then creating havoc to us. Segregation will be helpful, it detaches the problem from us. There we are seeing the problem objectively.
What do you say about the grabbers …always wanting more, the more you give more they want…. how to handle this nuisance 🤨🤨

Thanks a lot for the appreciation. Harsh you are my adorable critic. I love reading your comments and views.

The grabbers have an empty belly, no matter what you feed, they keep showing hunger pangs. It’s easy to segregate this breed from our social circle. Just ostracise them, without letting them know that you are inert to them.
I am in process of dealing with a bunch of such mundane relationships.

  2. That’s an excellent doctors prescription, true the trouble arises from close relationships . Expectations are very high or they take advantage of our simplicity. Thank you.
