Don’t let others dictate your path—instead, seize control of your destiny and empower yourself through rebellion. It’s about taking the reins of your life and steering it in your chosen direction, feeling the surge of empowerment, and knowing you are in charge of your journey.
Embracing rebellion can be powerful and influential when questioning one’s status quo. It’s not just about defying norms but also about discovering your unique path, life’s purpose, and intuition. Your inner voice is the part of you that knows what you truly want and need, and listening to it can guide you towards your passions and true self. It validates your beliefs and inspires you to stand up and be true to yourself and your conscience. This encouragement fuels your motivation, igniting a fire to pursue your unique path.
Rebellion isn’t just about resisting outside control. It’s about crafting your journeys and chasing your horizons guided by purpose, integrity, and reverence.
Fifty years ago, I would have been a rebel had I gone against my parents’ dreams and wishes and chosen a career in film and drama. Our generation listened to superiors, so I was forced to become a doctor instead of some Mr Bachchan. My modus operandi at that time was debatable. Though I have no regrets, maybe I should have rebelled and cherished my passion.
The present generation is more awakened and mentally stirred. They know what they want to do and have made a niche by defying the norms and opting for things from within, not outside pressure or control. A rebellious spirit is often driven by a deep sense of individuality, making it unique and special. They push their boundaries and set out to explore new ideas by defying things because that’s how it’s always been done.
The past has also shown rebels who merged their passion and creativity and made the world more authentic. Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, etc., are just a few examples of those who fought for social justice. Their impact inspires hope and instils a sense of affirmation for a better future, shaped by individuality and defiance. It’s a future that we can all contribute to by embracing our rebellious spirit and positively impacting the world.
Other rebels, such as Rosa Parks, Malala Yousafzai, and Frida Kahlo, have also uniquely left their mark on history. Their stories testify to the power of rebellion and its impact.
Impactful rebels challenge the system with a vibrant vision and sense of ethics; their defiance doesn’t unnecessarily harm others. It’s important to note that rebellion is not about being reckless or causing harm but about standing up for what you believe in and making a positive change. Rebellion is a thoughtful and intentional act, not a spur-of-the-moment decision or destructive behaviour. It’s about challenging the status quo responsibly and constructively.
In a world with a billion heads, the ‘Reasonable Breed’ adapts to the world and how things move around it. They don’t question or raise eyebrows even when atrocities happen or hamper their lives. This is the normal, mundane life of an ordinary man. He may not be unhappy or depressed, but he has succumbed to his dreams and fogged his horizons.
In contrast, a ‘Rebellious Spirit’ can break this cycle, allowing individuals to pursue their passions and positively impact the world. They persist in trying to adapt the world to themselves. Rebellion is the only thing that keeps a person alive in any absolute sense.
ALBERT CAMUS stated, “I rebel; therefore, I exist.”
The ‘Reasonable Breed’ represents those who conform to societal norms without questioning them. At the same time, the ‘Rebellious Spirit’ embodies those who challenge these norms and strive for personal fulfilment and positive change. The ‘Reasonable Breed’ may find comfort in the familiar, while the ‘Rebellious Spirit’ seeks to break free from these constraints and pursue their passions.
Our society has nurtured more male rebellions than female ones. ‘Men are destroyed by being rebellious, and women destroy themselves by failing to be rebellious.’
Times have changed, and more and more rebellious women have plunged into the arena, making a significant difference in society. It has taken a lot of time and perseverance to break the shackles of home confinement, raising children and slogging in the kitchen. They have brought society to their face and said, “I understand what you want me to be, but I am going to show you who I actually am.”
Being judgmental, nosey or intrusive is people’s favourite pastime. They want and endeavour to control everyone according to their whims, illogical suggestions and biased motives. They use emotions, anger and antagonism to prevent and block progress and innovations. A rebel doesn’t fall in as bait to such nasty characters, stating – ‘I am too busy working on my grass to notice if yours is greener.’
He was a brilliant kid and built a niche in school and college. He followed his passion and graduated in the manner he envisaged. He defied the norms, disallowing himself to follow the routine and work under anarchy. He shunned life’s pleasures and dwelt in meagre settlements with the bare minimum needs. He is a rebel; he knows the rules and will break them easily. He is never at ease with paths established by others as he sets his horizons. His peers encouraged his curiosity and backed his rebellion. He refuses to be what everyone else is – He stands by his beliefs. Though defiant and rebellious, he is strong and positive. He is a new-age rebel.
An interesting quote by LAUREL THATCHER ULRICH – “Well-behaved women seldom make history.”

Dear Anuj, That’s an amazing writeup on rebellion. Rebellion is the ways to a real human life. You are a superb author. You have a huge capacity to ignite minds. Love you. ❤️❤️

Excellently comprehended article Anuj Bhaiyya.
Someone rebelled, many joined and today we are free from slavery. Someone rebelled , many joined in and today women get equal pay as men. Someone rebelled and SCs and STs got their right to equality. To be free is everyone’s birth right, of course without harming others. But, when freedom is denied, one has to take it from others. There’s a misconception and a fear in the minds of people who want to control others that freedom means not caring for others. If we give freedom to the person who we control, we’ll be left uncared for.
I can be free and yet caring for my family. Freedom and caring can go easily hand in hand. It’s the insecurity of the people who want to control others that rebellion takes birth. The only thing with the rebellion is that one must be ready to face the results in case it is negative , learn the lesson and march forward again.
Hi Sujata
Thank you so much for posting your views in the blog. I appreciate your thoughts and approach. We have all been a rebellion at some stage of our lives. There have been positive and negative circumstances for our behaviour. Now we see our children doing the same.

The blog” Be rebellious-Controlled by self, not people ” has been scripted nicely.. Their is an inherent quality in human beings of being rebellious. At times, it is very frequent in some people where as it sparingly happens in some. It is observed that many children become rebellious when their demands are not met. It may be due to financial constraints also.. Nevertheless, as rightly said, rebellion nature should be prevalent, as it’s needed to grab the genuine right, at times.. We shouldn’t become rebellious for objects that are far achievable or are not favourable in the long run.
My case is similar to your case.. I was interested to become a Medico as my Biology, particularly Zoology was very strong..But as Physics was not upto the mark, I couldn’t crack CPMT.Then, I opted for Chemistry at PG level, thought my name was at the top for Zoology. Finally I did PhD in Chemistry too. Had I became rebellious for Zoology, I wouldn’t have been where I am now..Too good Dr Anuj..
Hello.
I was waiting for your feedback. You express so beautifully. It is interesting that we began our journey together and were neighbors too. You rightly said we all have a rebellion inside us. But somehow our destiny also plays a significant role.
Regards.
